The Just Food Company was established in 2004 by Deirdre Hilliard who operated a stall at the Midleton Farmers Market. Now, from a commercial kitchen in Cobh, County Cork, we prepare organic handmade food, and supply products to several supermarkets and restaurants. A diverse range of fresh organic foods are produced, by an experienced team, using organic ingredients - as local as possible.
“We believe that food cooked in small batches tastes better and is better. Smaller batches also cook quicker and closer to the time of consumption which has taste, nutritional and food safety benefits, and allows us to respond to natural differences in ingredients."
The Just Food team has several experienced food industry professionals with broad experience in the catering and restaurant business. To ensure our team maintain a strong customer focus our team also spends time with customers by either presenting our prepared produce at farmers markets, or by visiting our retail and restaurant customers. Our Restaurant and regular customers at Midleton Farmers Market provide us with very valuable direct feedback on the products we produce, allowing us to fine tune recipes and develop new products, a win-win for the customer and for Just Food
It has always been our policy to source our ingredients from local suppliers when possible. Here are some of the local suppliers we use :
Dan and Ann Ahern from Midleton Co Cork, supply the chicken livers for our award winning Chicken Liver Pate. When we started selling at Midleton Farmers Market we shared a stall with Dan and Ann.
Green Earth Organics in Co Galway also provide ingredients for us. Green Earth also run a vegetable and fruit box delivery scheme operating throughout
As we have grown, we have been able to agree drop off points with our retailers/distributors for these suppliers so that we can pick up their ingredients on our way home after delivering our organic handmade food.
